  • H₂O₂+ Fe² → Fe³ + OH- + OH*
  • R- + OH* → CO2 + H₂O

Characteristics

  • Used for removal of non-biodegradable toxic materials.
  • Excellent replacement capacity to load variation.
  • High operation costs

Ozone oxidation reaction

Ozone reaction type

  • R-R + O3 → R-COOH / R-CHO /R-OH + O3 → CO2 + H₂O
  • high molecule substance → low molecule substance
  • hydro phobic substance → hydrophile property substance
  • non-biodegradable substance → biodegradable substance
  • toxic substance → substance with weak toxicity

Characteristics

  • Used for removal of small amount of non-biodegradable COD
  • Also used as sterilization facilities at final outlets.
  • High initial investment costs.
