[Energy Economic Daily | Editor: Gi-woo Song]On Monday, May 2, Seoul National University of Science and Technology (President: Dong-Hoon Lee, hereinafter \u201cSeoulTech\u201d) signed an industry\u2013academia cooperation agreement with Techcross (CEO: Seok-Won Park) and Techwin (CEO: Bung-Ik Jung) to foster talent in the fields of hydrogen energy and hydrogen fuel cells.This agreement was promoted in response to the growing need for collaboration between power generation companies and academia to establish effective policy directions and cultivate specialized human resources for the efficient implementation of the \u201c2050 Carbon Neutrality\u201d initiative. The two companies are drawing attention as strong small- and medium-sized enterprises poised to lead the green hydrogen business, regarded as a key future growth engine.SeoulTech plans to actively advance close educational cooperation with the two companies, including joint R&D in advanced energy technologies and policy fields, mutual exchanges of educational and research personnel, and the provision of internships and industry\u2013academia programs for students of the Department of Future Energy Convergence.<\/p>\n\n

In the 2022 academic year, SeoulTech established the Department of Future Energy Convergence within the College of Creative Convergence (Dean: Byung-Wook Choi). Through curricula and research outcomes that cultivate both social science literacy and engineering expertise in advanced energy fields, the university is committed to nurturing interdisciplinary engineering talent capable of leading promising future energy industries both domestically and internationally.<\/p>\n\n

Meanwhile, the College of Creative Convergence at SeoulTech is a college focused on advanced academic fields aimed at responding to rapidly changing industrial structures and fostering innovative talent in new technologies. It comprises the Department of Future Energy Convergence, the Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering, and the Department of Applied Artificial Intelligence.<\/p>\n\n

Meanwhile, Techwin is a total engineering company specializing in environmental solutions, chemical plant construction, and facility maintenance and diagnostics. Techcross, the world\u2019s leading manufacturer of ballast water treatment systems, possesses core technologies in electrolysis-based water treatment.<\/p>\n\n
